Sound Broadcasting 2
The second, older sound broadcasting van of the Institute for Music and Media has been decommissioned as a road vehicle for reasons of age, and has hence become a further mix editing studio for the Institute. This offers the students the opportunity, from the first term onwards, to engage with the realities and difficulties of a digital studio.
A 5.1 monitor setup is available. It is predominantly used for mixing, and if required can be used as a substitute for the Partikasaal Sound Control Room, and can additionally be connected to the chamber music hall of the Robert Schumann School of Music and Media. The interior is acoustically optimised, and two silent air-conditioning systems ensure the comfort of the students.
A MOTU interface makes it possible to edit projects on a DAW (digital audio workstation) using the Nuendo sequencer software installed, or Magix Sequoia. A 32-Amp connection is needed for power supply.
