Master of Music / Major in Orchestral Instruments
1. Preselection
For the pre-selection, a total of 4 uncut videos showing artistic presentations have to be submitted with the application. The total duration of the 4 videos should not exceed 20 minutes. The following requirements apply:
Tenor Trombone
- Fedinand David, Concertino in E flat major 1st and 2nd movements to letter E with piano accompaniment. 1 uncut video.
- Two works of free choice from other style periods with piano accompaniment. 2 uncut videos.
- Orchestral pieces. 1 uncut video.
- Mozart - Tuba Mirum
- Ravel - Bolero
- Wagner - Ride of the Valkyries
Bass Trombone
- Ernst Sachse, Concertino F major 1st and 2nd movements to 7th measure after letter D with piano accompaniment. 1 uncut video.
- A. Lebedev, Concerto No. 1 or E. Bozza, New Orleans with piano accompaniment. 1 uncut video.
- One work of free choice from another style period with piano accompaniment. 1 uncut video.
- Schumann - Rhenish Symphony
- Strauss - Heldenleben
- Wagner - Ride of the Valkyries
2. Presence Examination
The presence examination includes the following parts:
- Artistic presentation: the same repertoire requirements apply as in the preselection. The same works may be presented as in the preselection.
- A short reflective talk related to the artistic presentation.
The examination board reserves the right to make a selection from the prepared pieces.
