The “mapping moments” installation reflects the working processes within the unique audiovisual Transmedia Forms Studio at the Institute for Music and Media, mirroring the studio back on itself in image and sound (third-order Ambisonics, projection surface with a width of 16m). Here, the studio becomes an instrument that essentially “plays” itself.
The image and sound of “mapping moments” were developed on site over the course of several weeks by Vincent Stange together with Joseph Baader, Alexander Borowski, and Laurenz Ulrich. References for the work are the “Mapping the Studio” installation by Bruce Nauman and the composition “I am sitting in a room” by Alvin Lucier.
“mapping moments” was developed by Stange as part of the Klang und Realität master’s program at the Institute for Music and Media at the Robert Schumann Hochschule Düsseldorf under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Heike Sperling and Prof. Andreas Grimm.
