Reinhard Klose
Assistant Professor of Live Sound reinhard.klose(at)rsh-duesseldorf.de Born in 1958, Reinhard Klose completed his apprenticeship in the recording department of the EMI Electrola record label in Cologne in 1980. Since 1982 he has worked as a freelance sound engineer, mostly for live concerts. He received certification as a SIM® System II Operator from MEYER SOUND in Berkeley, California in 1993. Among other things, Reinhard Klose works as a live sound engineer for the Paul Kuhn Big Band. Since 1994 he has also served as the live sound engineer for the WDR Big Band on their tours of Europe, Asia and the US. Starting in 1999 Mr. Klose began working as a live sound engineer and head of production for the Cologne-based a cappella ensemble Wise Guys. He has developed concepts for the group for numerous events (e.g., at Tanzbrunnen/Cologne, Philipshalle/Düsseldorf and the Ostseehalle/Kiel). From 1993 to 1996, he was responsible for live sound at various MMC productions such as RTL Samstag Nacht, Stern TV and Plan International. From 1995 to 2000, Mr. Klose developed sound designs for various musical productions at Theater Krefeld Mönchengladbach. Mr. Klose has been a consultant and executive sound engineer at the RuhrTriennale in Duisburg from 2005 to 2011. He has been live sound engineer for the WDR Funkhausorchester since 2015 and has been a sound engineer for live concerts at the Karlheinz Stockhausen Foundation for Music since 2016. Reinhard Klose develops and runs industrial, radio play and TV productions for clients including Aral, Audi, Deutsche Telekom, Lanxess, McKinsey, SWF, ZDF, SFB, BR, SR, RTL, SAT 1 and for many festivals. He works for ensembles as well as artists, including the Günter Noris Big Band, Schumann-Camerata Düsseldorf, the Bremer Philharmoniker, Karlheinz Stockhausen and Peter Alexander. Mr. Klose also creates live sound system concepts for renovated venues such as the Dortmund Opera, the Schauspiel Dortmund Theatre, Halle Münsterland and Forum Leverkusen. He also offers live sound consulting services in response to various invitations to tender. Reinhard Klose has been a guest lecturer on live sound at the ARD.ZDF medienakademie in Nuremberg since 1993. He has been a faculty member at the Institute For Music And Media (IMM) of the Robert Schumann School of Music and Media Düsseldorf since 2006. Reinhard Klose has been a guest lecturer at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague since 2018.
