www.andygillmann.de Andy Gillmann, born in 1963, studied drums from 1986 to 1991 at the University of the Arts in Arnheim (NL) under Joop van Eerven and Rene Creemers. His musical range extends from jazz and groove – including fusion – all the way to Latin music. His highly virtuosic brush work and dynamic drumming brought him invitations to all major drum festivals in Europe. He has also published several percussion textbooks and DVDs with the Leu-Verlag publishing company. Andy Gillmann has played on many performances and tours as well as in CD, radio and TV productions, working with artists such as David Becker, Tony Lackatos, Robin Hood – The MusicalBeauty and the Beast – The Musical, Zeeteah Massiah, Hakim Ludin, Rene Creemers, Marla Glen, Anne Haigis, Harald Schmidt, Gitte Haenning, Grant Stevens, London Symphonic Orchestra, Marcus Watta, Hilko Schomerus and Jose Cortijo.  He has been teaching since 1995 at the Drummers Institute in Düsseldorf and the Wuppertal Campus of Cologne University of Music and Dance. Since 2010, he also is Assistant Professor for Drumset at the Institute For Music And Media of the Robert Schumann School of Music and Media in Düsseldorf. At the present time, Andy Gillmann is working with his own trio and the band Jazz_lokal.
