The music video Imperfections by Noah Bugalski is a visual and auditory collage responding to the never-ending and everyday struggle with one’s own perfectionism. With the help of digital errors, chaotic sounds from broken instruments, and a control mechanism driven by generative software, the work allows chance and imperfection to take center stage. For both the artist and the audience, the result is a kind of antidote to the paralyzing control freak with one simple goal: to learn to let go.

The music video Imperfections was Bugalski’s final project in the Visual Music program at the Institute for Music and Media at the Robert Schumann Hochschule Düsseldorf. The work was supervised by Prof. Dr. Heike Sperling and Marcus Schmickler.
