Laute Post [Loud Post]
In Music and Media student Yannick Benavides’ thematically modular Laute Post performance, Mascha Corman and Thea Soti discuss the dramaturgical content of erotic films and how this subject matter is treated. Like sirens from Homer’s Odyssey, a new form of expressive communication is created in a multi-channel setup using the sounds of screams on the computer and improvised paraphrases by female vocalists.
Headphones, which are expected to provide protection from the high volume, turn out to be a medium for flawed information in which utterances are distorted and prove to be useless.
Despite the misunderstandings and chaos, the spoken words mutate into music, and computer and voices merge.
