Lieblingsplatte Festival [Favorite Recording Festival]
[Translate to Englisch:]
“Important live albums in the history of German pop music”: That was the theme of the first installment of the Lieblingsplatte Festival at Düsseldorf’s Kulturzentrum Zakk from December 10th through 17th. Seven bands and solo artists each performed the key album in their repertoire in a single session on seven evenings.
IMM student Simon Langemann attended all the concerts and interviewed four of the bands in order to document events in a live sound collage. Frank Fenstermacher of Fehlfarben, Markus Acher of The Notwist, Stephan Rath, Ted Gaier and Schorsch Kamerun of the Goldenen Zitronen, Max Müller of Mutter and festival initiator Miguel Passarge all contributed. The work was carried out as a final exam project for the upper-level <link en institute institute-for-music-and-media studienschwerpunkte>Music & Text module in <link en institute institute-for-music-and-media personen matter-marc>Marc Matter.
