Japan Day 2019 – The Fireworks

[Translate to Englisch:]

Japan Day in Düsseldorf is a German-Japanese festival that regularly attracts more than half a million visitors. The event traditionally ends with a spectacular half-hour Japanese fireworks display – a visual highlight also broadcast on television by WDR.
For the 2019 fireworks, students majoring in Media Composition composed and produced fireworks music to round off the TV experience.
The challenge of writing music for a choreography that is developing in real time included the implementation of specifications for the motto and a sophisticated “ignition plan” for five sections of a musico-dramaturgic timeline.

Individual sections:
1. Festival in Japan (Jannis Lehnert)
2. Characters’ Parade (Kai Fenchel)
3. Spiritual Spots (Ben Winkler)
4. At the Sushi Bar (Lauritz Heinze)
5. Finale - Japanese Cherry Blossoms (Andreas Ernst)
TV Outro (everybody)
