TV in the Corner

In autumn 2022, Henry Lee’s debut album TV in the Corner was released by tétégé records. The album was produced by Berlin-based artist and producer Jakob Lebsanft; all songs were written by Elisa Henriette Metz – aka Henry Lee – a graduate of the Klang und Realität master’s program.

Musically, Elisa operates in the space between 60s radio workshops and 90s dream pop, influenced by bands like Electrelane, Stereolab, and Broadcast, among others. The title of her album, TV in the Corner, refers to one of her early childhood memories: she observes herself on the screen of her parent’s tube TV, tucked into the corner of the living room and affixed with a video camera that films her singing into an imaginary microphone as she dances – the moment her dream of becoming a singer was born. 

The album is available on cassette and vinyl via Bandcamp, as well as digitally on all major streaming platforms. The follow-up album is already in the works and will be released in summer 2023.

The project was created under the supervision of Prof. Andreas Grimm, Phillip Schulze, and Prof. Dr. Heike Sperling as part of the Klang und Realität master’s program at the Institute for Music and Media at the Robert Schumann Hochschule Düsseldorf.
